The space “between the architecture of the future” is, on the one hand, the basis for a harmonious meshing of living, working and leisure activities. On the other hand it is also the basis for positioning buildings and for the resulting spatial flow, derived from the given parameters. That means that the urban quality is not solely the result of the urban development regulations. This active co-operation of the planners is essential. Together they develop a framework made up of the topography, the qualities of outdoor space and architecture with the goal of creating a compact, manifold and complex urban structure. This structure reflects identity because of the subtle balance between the various forms of architectural expression and the uniformity of its formal vocabulary. Methods of cooperation combined with an overall concept echo the phenomena of “the city” and the “city in a state of becoming”. This process contains a temporal dimension that is so important for the development of a city. This affects the rediscovered qualities of perception and movement: arriving, sequences of routes and spaces within a unity of images and movements, perception and use. Essential parameters are: flowing spaces contained spaces spaces open to the surroundings architectural accents Events appear in a grid of spaces, in combination of various places, different activities and possibilities. |
