Working in close collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna Jiatong University in Chegndu (Sichuan, China) plans to create a University of the Arts close to its existing campus. This will be the first time in China that an existing industrial complex with a fabric worth preserving has been integrated in such a project.

To deal with the limitations of Chinese building technology and the robust nature of the program we chose an extremely simple kind of construction. The spatial layout is inspired by Chinese gardens and the typology of the courtyard house.
